A stunning and scarcely seen Edwardian drop leaf, oak desk. Constructed from solid oak, the desk features five drawers, with beautiful brass cup handles that all have the 'GR' engraved stamp. The desk has a drop leaf to the right hand side which enables the desk to be extended if required.
Excellent vintage condition.
*This listing is for one desk only, please see the storage section for the matching desk.
The matching desk to this one has a ERVIII marking to the underside which indicates it was produced at the time of King Edward VIII, which was a very short period (20th Jan - 11 Dec 1936) as he abdicated the throne to marry Wallis Simpson.
The desk was most likely produced for government offices such as a post office.
The oak has a lovely patina, please take a look at the photographs for more detail.
